Sri Lanka shares edge down ahead of Christmas weekend | Sinhala News

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s main stock edged down on Tuesday as many investors and brokers were in holiday mood ahead of the weekend Christmas.

The All Share Price Index (ASPI) edged down 9.19 points to 11,640.91 while S&P SL20, an index with top 20 liquid firms, fell 0.42 percent or 17.69 points to 4,172.68 points.

The day’s turnover was 4 billion rupees, in line with this year’s daily turnover, while foreign investors bought a net of 16 million rupees worth shares.
