Government Press Secretary Gangani Kalpana Liyanage says that it costs around Rs. 10 to print one page of a gazette notification published by the Government Press.
She told a weekend newspaper that the cost of a gazette would vary depending on the number of copies and the number of pages.
She said that the gazette notification issued every Friday states the essential decisions of the government, including recruitments. However, she said that the printing press is ready to print sudden gazette notifications at any time of the day if the public needs to be informed of a speedy change in a decision taken by the government.
She further said that the Government Press is an institution where employees are deployed and on standby 24 hours a day.
