Minister of Trade – Bandula Gunawardena says that according to the Government Analyst and other experts including university professors have stated that Gas cylinders do not explode.
He was speaking in Parliament today (27), during a debate in this regard.
He also said that the Government has drawn its swift attention to this issue.
MP Kins Nelson alleged that the public are standing in lines to purchase gas cylinders, which ultimately ended up being bombs in their own homes.
Responding, the Speaker of the Parliament stated that gas is a naturally flammable substance, while the Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena stated that such cases are unnatural.
