The vote on the second reading debate of the budget is expected to take place at 5 pm today.
Daily mirror learnt that all government MPS have been asked to be present in time for the vote today.
The commitee stage debate on the budget will begin on Tuesday November 23 2021.
The final vote on the budget is expected to take place on December 10 2021.
Meanwhile government MP Wijedasa Rajapaksa told our sister paper Lankadeepa that he will vote in favour of the budget as there is no alternative available to defeat it. Some of the Muslim MPS who supported the 20th amendment are also expected to vote in favour of the budget.(YOHAN PERERA)
