Three suspects were arrested for the possession of ten Elephant Pearls (Gajamuthu) during a raid carried out by the STF in Eragama in Kalmunai yesterday.
A team of officers from the STF Kalmunai camp seized the pearls during the raid.
It was revealed that these illegal Elephant Pearls were set for sale and the suspects who were residents of Waripathanchena and Malwatta, aged 24 and 64, were identified as the smugglers engaged in this racket.
The suspects along with the Elephant Pearls were handed over to the Eragama Police Station for further investigations.(DSB)
