The All Ceylon Muslim Congress (ACMC), led by Rishad Bathiudeen, says it will vote against the 2022 budget presented to parliament last week.
Rushdie Habib, the party’s legal adviser, said the decision was taken after a meeting of his party’s politburo.
The debate on the second reading of the budget ends today (22) and the vote is expected to be taken at 5.00 pm today.
On November 12, Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa presented his inaugural budget for 2022, and the second reading of the budget began on November 15 and was debated over seven days.
The Committee Stage Debate on the Budget will commence tomorrow (23).
