Provide three square meals to people before making roads: Geetha | Sri Lanka News

Something must be done to help the poor people who could only afford only one meal a day before constructing and carpeting roads, ruling party MP Geetha Kumarasinghe said today.

She told Parliament that there are innocent people who could only find one meal in a day and that the Government should do something to help provide them with at least three meals a day.

“It is good to build and asphalt roads. But, before all, we should do something to quench their hunger,” she said.

The MP said only 3% has been allocated for the women from the budget and said more focus should be paid on the women. “52% of voters in the country are women,” she reminded.(Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
