Parliamentarian Prof. Tissa Vitharana is of the view that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine could be harmful to the people and that the government should look for alternatives.
Speaking in Parliament yesterday, Prof. Tissa Vitharana stressed that the Pfizer vaccine is a messenger RNA vaccine and no one could predict how it would react after a gene is injected directly into the human body.
He said RNA has been used in vaccines to inject humans for the first time and added that he, as a medical professional, has doubts about the Pfizer vaccine.
Prof. Tissa Vitharana therefore requested authorities to seek alternatives instead of importing Pfizer vaccine doses continuously.
