Two arrested with 77 pandrol clips | Sri Lanka News

Two people were arrested yesterday for removing pandrol clips from the railway line between Colombo Fort and Secretariat Halt Railway Station, Railway Security Force Superintendent Anura Premarathne said.

He said the suspects were found with 77 pandrol clips removed from the railway line, valued at Rs. 10,780.

“Pandrol clips secure rail in position and are used for fastening tracks to rail concrete sleepers. The removal of clips can lead to derailments, “Mr. Premarathne said.

He said the suspects used a piece of rock to remove the pandrol clips.

The suspects were handed over to the police yesterday for further investigations, Premarathne added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
