The Attorney General is to be consulted regarding the Letter of Demand (LoD) sent to the National Plant Quarantine Agency by the exporter of the controversial Chinese fertilizer ship Qindao Seawin Biotech.
The company had demanded $ 8 million in damages from the National Plant Quarantine Agency for negligence and false reports.
The Letter of Demand was received by the Additional Director of the National Plant Quarantine Service on the 9th and it has been referred to the Attorney General for further action.
However, it is reported that the ship “Hippo Spirit” with organic fertilizer is currently anchored in Sri Lankan waters.
