Some 220,000 consumers have been affected by power breakdowns due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the country, Power and Energy Development Director and Media Spokesperson Sulakshana Jayawardena said.
He told the Daily Mirror that the said record was set at 9.00 a.m today and that complaints regarding the breakdowns had been received yesterday and today.
Consumers in several areas in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Western, and Eastern provinces experienced power breakdowns.
However, the CEB maintenance services are already deployed to restore the power supply with the least possible delay, Mr. Jayawardena added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
