Badalkumbura Police had found a human skull in a deserted area near the 11th km post in the Alupotha area on the Badalkumbura – Passara main road.
The Badalkumbura Police had commenced investigations following a tip off received by the 119 Police Emergency Response Unit on the 6th that there was a human skull in the Alupotha area in Badalkumbura.
A 10-year-old boy who went to pick cocoa from the land had seen the skull and had told his sister about it who had in turn notified the police via the 119 Police Emergency Response Unit number.
Police have so far recorded statements from the relevant parties and the skull is to be referred to the Government Analyst for further investigation.
A few months ago, the body of a woman who had been murdered and decapitated was found in a suitcase in the Dam Street area in Colombo.
The killer was a Sub Inspector residing in the Badalkumbura area.
The head of the murdered woman has not yet been found and investigations are still underway to find her head.
