A 21-year-old has been knocked over by a train while taking a selfie on the Kallaru Bridge in Settikulam, Vavuniya.
According to the police, two youths had attempted to take a selfie while the train heading to Anuradhapura from Mannar was moving.
One of them had been knocked over killing him instantly while the other had jumped out off the bridge.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Murungan, Mannar.
The body of the deceased has been initially taken to the station and then handed over to the Settikulam hospital.
Further investigations are underway.
