SLPP MP – S.B. Dissanayake said that the people should get used to facing hardships.
He said this addressing a meeting held in the Poodalu-Oya area.
The MP said that the government has been able to save the country at least to this extent, despite having to remain under lockdown for several months, adding that the government has to endure a loss of around Rs. 4.5 billion per day during lockdown.
He noted that difficult times are imminent ahead, adding that the price of goods and even the price of fuel is expected to rise further.
However, he expressed hope that the situation would normalise by the end of next year and it would be possible for the country to get back on its feet by then.
